Case Study: 60 Minute Kids’ Club

In 2010, we identified a Physical Literacy gap. Based on our profile in the allied health care sector, we were called to provide solutions for the delivery of physical education in schools

Challenge

Educators face challenges in activating healthy habits and developing movement skills due to a lack of tools and support.

Objective

Our objective was to address the lack of activation and provide educators with the tools and support necessary to manage adherence to healthy habits and the development of movement skills among children aged 5-12.

Solution

We introduced a program with two tools designed to:

  1. Track, record, and report healthy behaviors
  2. Teach fundamental movement skills to children aged 5-12

The program could be implemented at the class, grade, school, or team level.

Outcome

Over a span of 5 years, the program has reached more than 1 million households in Canada.

It was also selected as a partner in NIKE’s Designed to Move initiative in 2010. Additionally, it was white-labeled for a Norwegian school pilot program in 2016 and has been successfully implemented in 8 countries.

Furthermore, the program’s Fundamental Movement Skills Videos have been downloaded over 2.5 million times worldwide, and universities in Canada, USA, and Australia have utilized these videos to educate educators.
