It’s a Catalyst for Real Change

The Leaders Connect | SPOTLIGHT isn’t about lectures, panels, or passive listening. It’s a working session for sport leaders who are ready to do things differently.

We’re inviting you—and ten confirmed club representatives from your sport—to join us for a one-day, in-person leadership experience designed to move our system forward. You’ll hear from experts across five critical leadership pillars—but the real strength of the day comes from those in the room: the sport leaders, club directors and change-makers already making an impact.

Each topic is introduced with clarity and purpose—then handed to you and your peers to workshop, debate and solve. Through small group dialogue, shared insights and actionable takeaways, this day will help unlock new thinking and practical solutions across all levels of sport.

And it doesn’t end there. Every participant will join a year-long roundtable cohort—a group of 10 peers who meet every 45 days for 90 minutes to continue to tackle real-time challenges, offer guidance and share solutions. This equates to 8 sessions per year. No one is left to figure things out alone. You’ll receive support inside your cohort and, when needed, access to trusted advisors.

We’re not here to inspire for a day. We’re here to build a connected, capable and supported sport leadership community—across all sports, all year long.

  • Session 2: Club Culture with Matt Young on shaping a thriving organizational culture. 
  • Session 3: Best Practices Showcase – Clubs Leading the Way in BC.
  • Session 4: Leadership Faceoff: A dynamic, IYSL-facilitated leadership activity where executives compete to generate the most innovative solutions to real challenges.
  • Session 5: CIRCLE Time – Identifying, Discussing, and Solving Issues (IDS Process)
  • Session 6: Establishing a 90-Day Plan

The capacity is 50 participants to ensure rich discussions and collaboration.
